Ann Louise Liimatainen Levasseur, Fairfield, resident of 60 years, passed away peacefully, with her loved ones by her side in Bridgeport Hospital on February 7th.
Ann was born in Barnstable, Massachusetts in the village of Cummaquid on July 2, 1942. Ann was an only child, predeceased by her parents Carl and Irene Liimatainen and her husband Donald Levasseur. Ann also loved to spend time and play board games with each and every grandchild. Ann attended Barnstable Elementary School and went on to Barnstable High School, where she graduated from in 1960. Furthering her education, she received her Bachelors Degree from Bridgewater State College where she met her long loved best-friend Patricia Martins. Here, she graduated class of 1964. After graduating college, she passionately became a second grade teacher for Norwalk public schools. She became the center of the neighborhood, known to most as gramma Ann, the children always popping in and out to get cookies, to the Fourth of July gatherings, cocktail evenings with Rita Waterman her friend and neighbor of many years.
She will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones Friends, Family, neighbors, and many more. She is survived by two sons, Donald Levasseur and his wife Michele (Residing in North Carolina), Brian Levasseur and his wife Kelly (Residing in Connecticut) and her precious grandchildren Amber, her husband Anthony Alexandrovich, Cody, Autumn, Britney, Austin and one great grand child, Violet Robin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 11:30 am in the Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield. Friends may call from 10 am until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
