Carl Ezzo Obituary

Carl Joseph Ezzo, 65 of Shelton, formerly of Stamford, passed away suddenly on Friday August 8th, 2025 with his loving family by his side.

He was born on May 18th, 1960 in Stamford to the late Joseph and Jane Tobyansen Ezzo.

He graduated in 1978 from JM Wright Technical School in Stamford. Shortly after graduation he joined the US Marine Corps and proudly served his country. Carl was a veteran member of the Glenbrook Fire Department. He often filled in for Santa at the annual tree lightings bringing smiles to all the children’s faces which brought him much joy. During his time at Glenbrook FD he also served as an EMT and was on the Executive Board. He spent many years employed as a cement mason and was a member of the BAC Local #1. Following that career, he was a cement truck driver for O&G Industries and was a member of the Teamsters Local #191. He retired in 2020.  In his younger years he spent many hours on Long Island Sound fishing with his Dad. Once he got his own boat, he was out fishing every chance he got.  He loved to be out on the water and enjoyed vacations at the ocean. He enjoyed watching the New York Yankees, San Francisco 49ers and was an avid NASCAR fan. Carl was a strong man with a big heart who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Leslie A. Ezzo of Shelton, his Stepson Nicholas E. Rosa, III and his fiancé Melissa Cannata of Norwalk, his Step-up Mom Diane M. Ezzo of Norwalk, his Sister Gina Ezzo of Stratford, his brothers Joseph P. Ezzo, Jr and Kevin M. Ezzo both of Stamford and his Niece Harlie Ezzo of Stratford. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Les Young. He will be greatly missed by his faithful companion, a Yellow Lab Joey. Being from a large Italian family, he grew up spending a lot of quality time with many cousins and extended family.
