Carolyn Campbell Ghianuly, age 82 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Thomas Ghianuly and mother to her dog CC, passed away on Tuesday, September 10th, in her home with her family by her side.
Born in Milford on August 2nd, 1942, daughter to the late George and Ruth Komm Campbell.
Everything flourished under her care, especially plants. Carolyn owned a flower shop followed by a career working for the United Parcel Service until her retirement. One of Carolyn’s favorite pastimes was going to estate sales where she would look for special treasures and would often share them with others. Carolyn enjoyed spending time walking with her good friends, "The Crew" at Lake Mohegan and spending time in her “Clubhouse" with Bilal Gilbertie and Karen Smull.
She is survived by her sister Jean Pawlich and her husband Dennis of Wallingford, brother in-laws Leo Ghianuly and his wife Louise of Florida, Van Ghianuly and his wife Datev of Arizona, nieces Alexandrea Fair of Fairfield, Nicole English and her husband Patrick of Shelton and Jessica Ghianuly of Arizona. Nephews George Hoag of New Hampshire, Jason Ghianuly and his spouse Cori Nadeau of Rhode Island and Jake Ghianuly of Arizona, a great-niece Kylie English, great-nephews Luke and Colin English and Jeffrey and Thomas Fair. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Campbell and sister in-law, Nora Hoag.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 pm in the Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
