George Angelescu

George Angelescu, age 78 of Redding, beloved husband of Sally Angelescu, passed away on Tuesday, April first in his residence with his family by his side. Born in Bucharest, Romania on October 14, 1946, Mr. Angelescu immigrated to the United States in 1977 and had been a Redding resident since 1983.

He had worked as a mechanical engineer for United Technologies Corporation as well as Pratt and Whitney until his retirement. George enjoyed all sports and was very active while skiing or playing tennis. More than anything he loved the times that he spent with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to Sally, his loving wife of 53 years, he leaves behind his daughter, Michelle Cornelis and her husband Trevor Cornelis of Redding, his precious granddaughter Charlotte, a brother Nicholai and his wife Christina of Romania and a niece, Daniella and his little " Best Friend " Toby.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 11 am in the Holy Brancoveanu Martyrs Romanian Orthodox Church, 183 Howe Ave., Shelton with burial to follow in Redding Ridge Cemetery, Redding. Friends may call at Church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of services.
