George Petrescu

Beloved Father, Husband, Uncle, Brother, and Son. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George, a man whose love and dedication touched everyone who knew him.

Born in Romania, George immigrated to the United States with a fierce determination and a work ethic that would define his life. He quickly embraced his new home, learning English, forging a path in his new country, and always finding ways to lend a hand wherever he could. Shortly after, his beloved wife Elena joined him, and together, they settled in Eastchester, where they built a life filled with love, laughter, and memories. They raised two sons, George and Gabriel, whom George adored beyond measure, his pride and joy. For 26 years, he worked tirelessly for the U.S. Postal Service, brightening the days of those around him with his kind heart.

He was known for being the life of every gathering, with a love for music that brought joy and energy to any room he entered. He devoted his life to his family, always putting their needs before his own, with a strength and love that will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him.

A Funeral Liturgy for George will be held on Tuesday, February 4th at 11:00 AM at Holy Brancoveanu Martyrs Romanian Church; 183 Howe Ave. Shelton, CT. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery; 475 Howe Ave., Shelton.
