Henry B. Bleggi

Henry B. Bleggi, age 89 of Trumbull, beloved husband of Beatrice Soltes Bleggi, passed away on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024, with his loving wife and children by his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY, son of Italian immigrants, the late Bernard and Mary Zambanini Bleggi. Henry and his family moved to Bridgeport where he attended St. Stephen's school and then moved to Fairfield where he attended Nathan Hale School. He attended Roger Ludlow high school as well as summer school at St. Emery's where he met his future wife, Beatrice. Around 2002 Henry and Beatrice retired to Florida and lived there for 10 years before settling in Trumbull where they lived with their daughter Karen and son in law Scott.

He was a United States Naval Veteran serving two tours of duty during the Korean War. His specialty was in radio communications and as an expert, he taught those on other ships to re-calibrate their radio systems to better communicate at sea, receiving a commendation from his Admiral.  Post War, Henry went to night school for electrical engineering while working for a grocery store. He went on to work for Sikorsky Aircraft and later as an electronics engineer for the Pitney Bowes Company for over 30 years, earning three patents until his retirement. Henry was also a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, Park City Council. 

He enjoyed his family the most, especially his grandchildren while also enjoying traveling with his wife Beatrice to Alaska, Hawaii and Europe

In addition to Beatrice, his loving wife of 67 years, Mr. Bleggi is survived by his children, John Bleggi of Seymour, Susan B. Felner and her husband Joseph Felner Jr. of Fairfield, Chris Bleggi and his wife Wendy of Fairfield and Karen Adams and her husband Scott of Trumbull. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Joshua Patrick, Zachary Alexander, Daniel Anthony, Angel Marie and Jacob Tyler Bleggi and Joseph Felner III and his fiancée Katrina, Jeff Felner and his wife Rachel and Caitlyn Carsey and her husband Gary and Christopher Thomas, Nikki Lynn and Tommy Rex Bleggi and Amanda Ore and her husband Billy, Scott Adams Jr and his wife Robin, Eric Adams and his wife Danielle. He will be sadly missed by his great grandchildren Stella and Marshall Ore, Emma and Riley Adams, and Serenity Rose Torres also surviving is his brother Louis Bleggi and his wife Pat as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Helen Mucherino and her husband Nick.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 11 am directly at St. Emery Church, 838 Kings Hwy, Fairfield. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 25th from 4-7 pm in the Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield.
