Ileana Anderca Ilisie, age 68, of Danbury, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 11, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Doru Ionescu, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and a woman remembered for her quiet strength, resilience, and deep devotion to her family.
Born on April 1, 1957, in Romania, Ileana was the daughter of Ilie and Caterina Palade Anderca. In 1991, she emigrated to the United States, where she built a new life through determination, hard work, and devotion to her family. She worked for many years as an accountant before her retirement, known for her precision, reliability, and strong sense of responsibility.
Ileana loved to travel and spend time in nature, finding joy in music and dancing, especially when shared with family. Her grandchildren were a profound source of pride and happiness in her life.
In addition to her husband Doru, Ileana is survived by her son, Bogdan Ilisie, and his wife, Carrie; her daughter, Laura Ilisie, and her husband, Andrei Tudor; her cherished granddaughters, Mara Tudor, Ana Tudor, and Cora Ilisie; and her sister, Dorina Gherlea.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Road, Easton, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 53 Turkey Plain Road, Bethel, Connecticut. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
