Ioan Cipu

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ioan Cipu, a beloved husband, father, and friend, on August 2nd, 2024. Born in Săcălaz, Romania, Ioan was the cherished son of Hristu and Tomaida Cipu. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and the immense love he held for his family and friends.

Ioan married Maria Caraman, and together they built a life filled with love and dedication. He was the proud father of his son, Daniel Cipu, who along with Maria, mourns his loss deeply.

In search of a better life, Ioan left Romania during the Communist era, first to Greece and eventually to the United States, settling in Connecticut. Two years later, his wife and son joined him, and they created a home filled with warmth and compassion.

Ioan's legacy is one of unwavering support and kindness. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, whether they were family, friends, or members of the community. His home was a sanctuary for many, a place where people found comfort and guidance.

Ioan was a respected and well-loved figure in his communities in Connecticut, New York, and Bucharest, Romania. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to experience his boundless generosity and caring nature.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Maria, his beloved son, Daniel, and a large community of family and friends who will miss him tremendously.

Ioan Cipu will be remembered for the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the legacy of kindness he left behind. May his soul rest in peace.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 at Holy Brancoveanu Martys Romanian Orthodox Church, 554 Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton. Funeral Services are being held in the care of Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road Fairfield.
