Joseph Cichon Obituary

Joseph John Cichon, age 65, former husband of Elaine Cashavelly Cichon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Bristol, CT on March 30, 1959, son of the late Richard Cichon and Vivian Rosia, Joseph had lived in Trumbull for most of his life. Early in his work career, he owned and operated Advanced Carpet Installations, and also sub-contracted at Redi Cut Carpet in Westport. He later went on to become an Independent Music Producer owning a recording studio in Trumbull, whose work included the theme song for the Bridgeport Bluefish Baseball Team as well as several national TV commercials and jingles. The last few decades of his career, he was the Lead Technical Director at Black Rock Congregational Church in Fairfield, CT.

Joe’s unwavering faith in Jesus was well known by all. He was a devoted servant of the Lord, embodying the epitome of service.

Joe loved sports. He was a softball player and a golfer. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys, but more than anything, he loved coaching his children in their sports over the years. Joe also had a fondness for animals, especially the family cat of 17 years, Simon, with whom he shared a special bond.

He will be greatly missed. In addition to Elaine, his former wife of 38 years, survivors include his son, Christopher Joseph Cichon and his wife Sarah Cichon, his daughter, Olivia (Cichon) Salza and her husband Nicholas Salza, all of Trumbull, and grandchildren Sophia Grace, Ryan Alexander and Caleb James as well as nieces Brittany and Gina, and nephew Alex. He was pre-deceased by his brother Richard Cichon.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 1:00 pm at the Black Rock Congregational Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield with the Pastor Gaylord Lemke officiating. For those who would like to join the immediate family, there will be a graveside burial prior to the service, held at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Harvester Road in Easton, CT at 11:30 am on Saturday November 16.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Black Rock Congregational Church.

All arrangements are in the care of the Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield.
