Katherine Carol McManus

Katherine Carol McManus, age 83, of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Born and raised in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Christopher and Mary Fitzpatrick McManus, Katherine was a lifelong Bridgeport resident.

She had attended Sacred Heart University where she received her Bachelors Degree and then her Masters Degree from the Fairfield University. She went on to work as a secretary for various attorneys in Bridgeport and then onto her career in Social Work for the State of Connecticut until her retirement. Katherine was a longtime parishioner of Assumption Church, she enjoyed all kinds of shopping and especially loved her trips to Ireland, Switzerland, Hungary and Canada. She was also a published author with her book “Peace Quotations”.

Survivors include her brother, John McManus of Florida, special cousins Deborah Koolis Tooley and Marlene Hessberger, their families and other relatives. She also leaves behind her caregiver Sharon Liu.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, at 9 am directly at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield with entombment to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
