Patricia A. Baker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on May 28, 2026. Born on July 22, 1931, in Fairfield, CT, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Emil and Jewel Zelensky and raised in the town of Fairfield.
She was a bright student with a nurturing spirit, which led her to pursue a career in nursing. After graduating from high school, Patricia attended the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. Her dedication to her profession was evident, as she provided compassionate care to countless patients throughout her career.
On April 27, 1957, Patricia married the love of her life, Noel W. Baker. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and laughter. Patricia and Noel shared a deep and abiding love until his passing, and their marriage was a testament to their commitment and affection for one another.
Patricia was the proud mother of three children, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Maureen Baker (Stanley) of Virginia, Kenneth Baker (Linda) of Milford, and Colleen Shipley-Hill (Keith) of Texas.
Her legacy extends to her four treasured grandchildren: Ashley, Dominick (Jenna), Cameron, and Nicole. Patricia's eyes would light up with pride whenever she spoke of them, and she found immense joy in watching them grow and flourish.
Patricia loved to cook and bake. If you’ve ever been over for a Sunday dinner or holiday dinner, you’d know that. It gave her great joy to have many friends and family around the table. Easters and Christmases wouldn’t be the same without her nut roll, poppyseed roll, and fruitcake.
Patricia was predeceased by her loving parents, Emil and Jewel Zelensky, her devoted husband Noel, her sister Virginia, and her brother Robert. She is survived by her brother Ronald and several nieces.
A woman of great faith and generosity, Patricia was known for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support of those she loved. She had a gentle smile and a warm heart that welcomed everyone she met. Her legacy is one of compassion, strength, and unwavering love, and she leaves behind a family that will forever hold her in their hearts.
In honoring Patricia's life, Friends and Family may call on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 4pm to 7pm at Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home at 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, Connecticut with a service at 7pm.
