Richard J. Pastor. Born April 19, 1941 in Bridgeport CT, son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Benya) Pastor, Richard passed away December 1, 2024.
He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Louis and Robert, his niece Susan, and is survived and will be missed by his nephews, Martin, Stephen, Michael and Mark. Richard was very proud of his work at Sikorsky, providing electrical work on many types of helicopters. He retired from Sikorsky in 2007, after decades of dedicated service. Richard was a true outdoorsman.
He loved hunting and fishing, and travelled throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean in search of wild game and game fish. Fly-fishing was a passion that provided him great pleasure and relaxation. He would recall with great enthusiasm trips to Canada to flyfish for native brook trout. But his skills extended far beyond that. He repeatedly achieved the Triple Crown of salt water flyfishing by catching many bonefish, tarpon and permit, most on flies he tied himself. He also excelled at photography and kept a comprehensive photographic record of his outdoor adventures. His was a life well lived.
He will be interned on January 11th at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fairfield, alongside with his brother Louis, and Louis’s wife Joan, and his niece, Susan.
