Simona E. Tudor, age 79 of Shelton, beloved wife of Nicolae Tudor, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
Born in Bucharest, Romania on September 4, 1946, daughter of the late Mircea and Margareta Pisaru Ionescu, Simona married her husband Nicolae in 1973 and emigrated to the United States in 1977 and had lived in New York, Greenwich, Westport and most recently in Shelton.
She was a talented architect and the President and owner of the Simona Tudor AIA LLC performing Residential and Commercial Designs. She has had many major projects in the Fairfield County area as well as being the Architect of Record of the St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church of Easton, which she did as a donation to the community. Mrs. Tudor had also been the President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Holy Brancoveanu Martyrs Church and had been a member of the Parish Council. She made a donation for church renovation and donated her architectural service for church refurbishing. To be noted that Simona was an outstanding member of the Architectural Institute of America and graduated from Harvard University Graduate School of Design receiving the following recognitions: Urban Housing and Mixed Development, Hotel Design and Development – Hospitality for the future, and Architecture and Sustainability - Integrating Built and Natural Environments. She also received a recognition diploma from Connecticut Historical Society for her work restoring historical buildings in Norwalk. She also enjoyed playing golf and exercising.
In addition to her husband Nicolae, Simona leaves behind her sons, Alexander Tudor and his wife Rebecca of Westport and Jason Tudor of Brooklyn, NY.. Grandchildren Lucas and Adrian Tudor, nieces Jennifer, Stephanie and Andrea as well as many dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister Ortansa Borcea.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27th at 10 am in the Holy Brancoveanu Martyrs Church, 183 Howe Ave. Shelton, family and friends may call at the Church from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations can be made to Holy Brancoveanu Martyrs Church.
