Stephen Meszaros Obituary

Stephen J. Meszaros, 93, formerly of Fairfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 3rd, 2024.

He was born in Bridgeport, CT to Stephen and Theresa Meszaros, and was a resident of Fairfield before moving to Trumbull where he was provided loving care by his daughter Karen for the last several years. He leaves behind his children; S. Robert Meszaros (Stacy), David J. Meszaros, Kathleen Pelletier (Richard), Karen Parisi, Carol Hespelt (David), and Cynthia Paltauf (Richard); grandchildren Christina Matousek( Matt), David Meszaros (Caitlin), Stephen J. Meszaros (Emily), Alicia Meszaros, Catherine Meszaros (Charlie), Christopher Parisi (Nicolette), Mary Parisi (Andrew), Tyler Pelletier, Zachary Hespelt, Abigail Hespelt, Nathan Paltauf, and Emily Paltauf; great-granddaughter Cecilia; and his beloved dog, Lucy. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Joan Meszaros; granddaughter, Lauren Pelletier; sister Arlene Galipo; and daughter-in-law, Debra Meszaros.

Stephen served his country with honor as an Army Sergeant during the Korean War (1952-1954), then went on to build a successful decades-long career at Hubbell Incorporated in marketing and product development. Stephen's faith was a cornerstone of his life. A longtime parishioner at St. Emery's Church, where he served as an usher for many years, he most recently found a spiritual home at Holy Cross Church. Yet, beyond his accomplishments, Stephen's greatest devotion was to his family. A man of quiet strength, his love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was boundless. He offered unwavering support, and his absence will be deeply and profoundly felt throughout the family.

To honor his memory, the funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, Tahmore Drive in Fairfield.
