Victor Thomas Vangele

Victor Thomas Vangele, age 82, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Barbara Calabrese Vangele, his wife of 55 years passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 after a courageous fight. He was a much-loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye to all that crossed his path..

Born in Bridgeport, Victor was the son of the late Thomas Vangele and Polly Mustaka Vangele. He moved to Trumbull 40 years ago with family..

Victor served in the United Stated Army Reserves from 1963 to 1969.  Victor started his career on the machine shop floor and quickly climbed the company ladder to become the Manager of Sales at Kanthal Wiring Corporation, dedicating 53 years.

During his time working, he traveled worldwide and loved vacationing with his family in the Islands. Puerto Rico and Atlantic City were some of his favorite places to spend time with his wife Barbara. Victor was incredibly detail oriented, from his cars, ,jewelry, clothing down to his shoes. He would enjoy researching his selections to perfection.  He owned a 1975 Bricklin classic car and enjoyed going to car shows.  He enjoyed collecting watches, spending time by the water and listening to Doo-Wop Music from his younger days.. He was a member of the Port 5 and the Bricklin International Car Club. Above all, his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren Tessa and Michael.

In addition to his loving wife Barbara, he is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Vangele-LaPierre  and her husband David of Stratford. He also leaves behind his son Jeffrey Vangele, his wife Kristen, his former daughter-in-law Jodi Lesko, sister Sue Wiencko, her son Tom Wiencko. He will truly miss his cherished grandchildren Tessa Vangele and Michael Vangele as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Van Vangele, his Brother and Brother- In-Law, Robert Wiencko.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 20th at 11 AM at St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Rd in Easton with burial to follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull, 1056 Daniels Farm Road. Friends may call at the church beginning at 10 AM util the time of services. Arrangements in the care of Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
