Born and raised in the West End section of Bridgeport, Frank attended the former St. Stephen's School and later Notre Dame Catholic High School of Fairfield. After graduating went on to studies at Fairfield University and later the American Academy McAlistor Institute of Funeral Service in Manhattan,N.Y. A 1977 graduate, Frank apprenticed with the Frank Polke and Son Funeral Home, recieving his license in 1979. In 1981 was married to the former Annemarie Collins of Fairfield and had lived in Bridgeport before moving to Trumbull in 2000. The Polke's have two children, Frank M. Polke Jr. and Stephanie Marie Polke. For many years, Frank has been a volunteer in various church and civic organizations including coaching Little League and Babe Ruth baseball , a past president of the St. Emery's Church Holy Name Society and for several years served on the former Fairfield Easton Regional School Board. Frank is a life member of the Fayerweather Yacht Club, he belongs to the Port 5 National Association of Naval Veterans Men's Auxiliary and is a longtime member of the Miamogue Yacht Club of Bridgeport, he enjoys boating about Long Island Sound and fishing especially with his family. Frank has spent over 45 years in Funeral Service and plans to continue the Polke Family legacy for years to come with his daughter Stephanie.
Following in her father's footsteps to continue the Polke Family Funeral name, Stephanie Marie Polke officially entered the funeral service in 2018. After graduating from Trumbull High School and excelling in the Bridgeport Regional Aquaculture Science Program she furthered her studies at Western Connecticut State University. Stephanie explored her passions with aquatic life, and animal sciences until ultimately enrolling in McCallister Institute of Funeral Service in Manhattan, NY where she graduated with honors, the same school that her father did. Under the leadership of her father, Frank M. Polke, she has continued to thrive and learn the traditions of the 130+ year legacy of the Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home. Stephanie is a long-time member of Miamogue Yacht Club in Bridgeport, the Bridgeport Boatowners Association and continues her passion of boating and fishing whenever possible.
